STAND UP AGAINST EXECUTIONS

Join the demos to save the lives of 17 people sentenced to death in Iran

In Iran people are sentenced to death on a daily basis. In the past two weeks 17 people have been condemned to death; each day several people will be hung in public.

This is unacceptable. This is blatant savagery. We must not become accustomed to such brutality. We cannot stay quiet in the face of these crimes. Experience has shown that if we make a protest, the Islamic regime retreats; if we remain silent, many will end up on the gallows. How many more 17 to 18 year olds are going to be executed in the coming weeks? How many more parents should be witness to how their loved ones, now on the death row in Iranian prisons, are viciously snatched away by a criminal regime? We cannot remain silent. We have to put a stop to it.

All of us have been enraged at hearing the news of the impending execution of a number of youngsters, the death sentences against two brothers, the plea of a father, the death sentences against Leyla Mafi, Shahla Jahed, Kobra Rahmanpour and others. All of us have wanted to do something about it.

The International Committee Against Execution is an organisation which lets you turn your anger at this brutality into action to save lives - alongside many others like yourselves. Join our pickets and demos on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th January in front of the European Union offices, in front of the Islamic Republic’s embassies, in the city centres, and outside the offices of the world press and media. Let everyone hear your voice of protest and your determination to put pressure on the Islamic regime in Iran to repeal the death sentences and abolish the death penalty.

Our next meeting at the demos on:

Friday 14th and Saturday 15th in the main cities of Europe, Canada and the USA
